A suspected gas leak triggered a fire at an apartment complex in central Bengaluru on Tuesday afternoon.
No casualties or injuries were reported as the occupants managed to escape safely before the blaze spread.
According to Fire and Emergency Services officials,an alert about the fire at a G+3 apartment building near Garuda Mall was received at 3.23 pm.
A fire tender was dispatched to the spot within a minute, reaching the location to bring the blaze under control.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire broke out in a top-floor apartment occupied by a family of four.
Officials suspect that a gas leak occurred while cooking was underway,causing the LPG pipe to catch fire before the flames spread to the gas cylinder.
The family members managed to evacuate the apartment safely,and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading to neighbouring flats.
Officials said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
A detailed investigation has been initiated to ascertain whether the blaze was caused by a gas leak or any other reason.
The apartment was damaged partially due to the fire causing panic among the other occupants .
