Actor Prakash Raj has landed in legal trouble after a magistrate court in Bengaluru reportedly issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him in connection with allegations of possessing multiple voter identity cards in different states.
A private complaint alleging irregularities in electoral registration and false declarations in election-related affidavits has been disposed of by a Bengaluru court, according to court records.

The complainant,K Dilip Kumar,a city based advocate had filed a PCR before the 48 Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court,Bengaluru City, alleged that a prominent film actor and former parliamentary election candidate had enrolled as a voter in more than one constituency and had made incorrect declarations in nomination documents submitted during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
According to the complaint, the petitioner claimed that the accused’s name appeared in multiple electoral rolls, allegedly in violation of provisions of the Representation of the People Act,1950.
The complainant further contended that representations had earlier been submitted to election authorities and police officials seeking action in the matter.
According to the complaint,Prakash Raj is alleged to have voter ID cards registered in four southern states — Karnataka,Andhra Pradesh,Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Election rules permit an Indian citizen to be enrolled as a voter in only one constituency and possess only one valid voter registration.
The complainant has alleged that the actor’s name appears in electoral rolls across multiple states, which,if proven, could amount to a violation of election laws.
The matter was brought before the court, which subsequently issued the NB warrant as part of the ongoing proceedings.
