Responding to questions from the media regarding the declaration of drought,Dr.Parameshwara said that he had already instructed officials to conduct an assessment of drought conditions across 102 taluks.
“The report will be submitted within the next two days. Following this,we will conduct a comprehensive assessment and declare the drought-affected areas. Subsequently, we will also submit a detailed report to the Union Government,”he said.
Responding to questions about the Opposition’s protests during the ongoing Legislature session, the Deputy Chief Minister said that protesting in the House is the right of the Opposition, but there are procedures and rules governing such protests.
“They can raise questions, and we will provide answers and clarifications. But protesting in this manner is not right.
There are pressing issues in the state, including the drought, and these issues need to be discussed in the House.
Our government and the Speaker have appealed to the Opposition to cooperate in these discussions,”he said.
“If they still choose to politicise the issue, there is little we can do.It appears that they are not interested in discussing the real issues affecting the people,”Dr. Parameshwara said.
