The K.R.Puram Police Station arrested three persons from other states in connection with a house burglary case and recovered stolen gold and silver articles along with cash worth approximately Rs.40 lakh.
Senior officer told reporters that a resident of Anandapura had filed a complaint at KR.Puram Police Station on February 20, 2026.
The complainant stated that he had travelled to Pune on February 18 for a relative’s wedding,while his wife and children remained at home.
Police said that on February 20,the complainant’s wife and children had gone to a nearby shop at T.C.Palya.
Upon returning home later in the day, they found the house door open and discovered that gold ornaments, silver articles,and cash amounting to ₹4.9 lakh had been stolen.
Based on the complaint,police registered a burglary case and launched an investigation.
During the probe,officers gathered technical and local intelligence and detained two suspects from Rajasthan on March 3, 2026.
During interrogation,the accused allegedly confessed to committing the theft along with another associate.
The two accused were later brought to Bengaluru on transit warrant and produced before the court on March 6,following which they were taken into 25 days of police custody.
Further investigation revealed that the stolen gold and silver articles had been kept at the residence of another associate in Bellandur.
Based on information provided by the accused,police apprehended another suspect from Uttar Pradesh on March 11 and brought him to Bengaluru on transit warrant.
Police said the accused confessed to their involvement in the offence.The third accused was produced before the court on March 14 and remanded to 15 days of police custody.
Between March 15 and April 11,police recovered 196 grams of gold ornaments,1 kg and 756 grams of silver articles,and ₹22,000 in cash from the accused and their associates.The recovered property is estimated to be worth around ₹40 lakh.
Police identified the prime accused as Uttam Singh,who allegedly conducted reconnaissance across the city to identify targeted houses and later roped in associates from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to execute the thefts.
Police said Uttam Singh is currently absconding and efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.All three arrested accused were produced before the court on March 28 and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is ongoing.
