Dr.Rajendra K.V,Commissioner of Bengaluru West City Corporation,held a progress review meeting at the Corporation office today regarding various ongoing works under the Corporation’s limits.
He issued strict instructions that Executive Engineers across all divisions of the Corporation,in coordination with officials from the Electrical Department,Forest Department,Solid Waste Management Department,and Advertisement Department,must inspect and identify issues regarding public infrastructure—including potholes,footpaths,waste management,bus stops,and electric poles—within their respective divisions and take prompt action to fix them.
He stated that teams headed by Executive Engineers in each division must set daily targets to walk and inspect arterial,sub-arterial,and high-density roads.
Dilapidated footpaths must be repaired,obstructions on footpaths removed,potholes fixed,and action taken against unauthorized LED advertisements.
He emphasized that proper lighting arrangements must be provided at bus stops during nighttime to ensure the safety and care of women and senior citizens.
The Executive Engineer of the Electrical Department informed the meeting that a fine of Rs.54 lakh has been imposed on contractors who failed to properly maintain electric streetlights.
Commissioner directed the officials that locations requiring public toilets and bus stops must be identified to implement citizen-centric measures.
CMIDP and CSSIP works must be completed with high quality.
The clearance of abandoned vehicles, removal of debris, and removal of unnecessary electric poles must be carried out properly.
Work must be executed effectively through the relevant agencies, and complaints received on the Sahaya app must be resolved expeditiously.
