As per the orders of the Minister for Greater Bengaluru Authority,Krishna Byre Gowda,and under the directions of the Commissioner of Bengaluru South City Corporation,K.N.Ramesh,a night inspection was conducted across the corporation limits to ensure the proper maintenance and functioning of streetlights.
Based on Complaints Registered Regarding Streetlights:
Various contracting agencies have been entrusted with the responsibility of installing and maintaining LED streetlights within the limits of Bengaluru South City Corporation. 
During the night inspection,several streetlights were found to be non-operational.Furthermore,
Total Penalty of Rs.13,00,753 Imposed on Contractors:
As this negligence resulted in dark spots affecting public safety and smooth vehicular movement, a total financial penalty of Rs.13,00,753 has been imposed on the concerned contractors in accordance with the terms and conditions of the maintenance agreement.
Details of Penalty Imposed on Contractors:
*M/s.Effilume Pvt.Ltd.:Rs.3,29,199.00.
*M/s.Spectrum Tool Engineers Pvt. Ltd.:Rs.9,56,955.00.
*M/s.Transglobal Power Ltd.: Rs.14,599.00.
*Total Penalty Amount: Rs.13,00,753.00.
The Commissioner,K.N. Ramesh,has issued strict instructions to the concerned engineers and contractors to immediately eliminate dark spots within the corporation limits and repair all non-functional LED streetlights on a war footing.
A stern warning has also been issued that stringent action will be initiated in the coming days if any negligence in duty is observed.
