In a shocking allegation against Bengaluru Police, a woman has accused a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) and a constable attached to the Varthur Police Station of illegally entering her house under the pretext of resolving a domestic violence case and allegedly looting gold, cash and other valuables.

The complainant has submitted CCTV footage along with a formal complaint to the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner and the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission seeking action against the officers.

According to the complaint, the incident took place on July 17 at the residence of Umera,a resident of Prakash Layout in Varthur.

Umera alleged that PSI Yesudas and Police Constable Santosh Nayak, accompanied by the complainant in the domestic dispute,Kulsum, her parents and around 20 to 30 others, entered her house without a court-issued search warrant.

The domestic dispute reportedly arose after Umera’s son Junaid married Kulsum earlier this year.

Four months into the marriage, differences cropped up between the couple, following which Kulsum allegedly left the matrimonial home and later lodged a domestic violence complaint against her husband at the Varthur Police Station.

Umera has alleged that during the visit, the police personnel and those accompanying them removed valuables from the house.

She claimed that the missing items include 137 grams of gold jewellery,Rs.5 lakh in cash, Rs.10,000 kept in the kitchen, expensive sarees,a branded wristwatch,a pair of sunglasses and three mobile phones.

In her complaint,Umera specifically alleged that Constable Santosh Nayak personally searched the house and took away cash kept in the kitchen along with other valuables.

The complainant has sought criminal action against the accused police personnel, alleging illegal trespass, theft and abuse of official authority.

She has also submitted CCTV footage, which she claims captures the entire incident.

The allegations have triggered outrage, with demands for an impartial investigation and stringent action if the accusations are found to be true.

As of now, there has been no official response from the Bengaluru Police regarding the allegations.
