Six drug peddlers arrested in separate drug cases across city;narcotics worth Rs.29.88 lakh seized

Bengaluru police have arrested six persons,including three from other states,in separate operations conducted by Bommanahalli,City Market,D.J.Halli and Byappanahalli police,seizing 25.37 kg of ganja,20 grams of MDMA and 7 grams of hydro ganja.

The seized narcotic substances have an estimated value of Rs.14.94 lakh,while their market value is pegged at Rs.29.88 lakh.

Acting on credible information received from informants on different dates about the sale of narcotic substances within their respective jurisdictions, police registered cases under the NDPS Act and conducted raids at the identified locations.

Six accused persons were apprehended in the separate cases.Three of them are from other states,while the remaining three are local residents.

According to police,during interrogation,the accused allegedly confessed to procuring narcotic substances at lower prices from unidentified suppliers within and outside Karnataka and selling them at higher prices to members of the public and college students.

Police station-wise seizures:

Bommanahalli police station officers seized-11.37 kg ganja worth of Rs.11.38 lakh.

City Market police station officers seized -14 kg ganja, worth of Rs.14 lakh.

D.J.Halli police station officers seized -20 gm MDMA, worth of Rs.4 lakhs.

Byappanahalli police station officers seized-7 gm hydro ganja,worth of Rs.50,000.

Totally 25.37 kg ganja,20 gm MDMA,7 gm hydro ganja
Worth of Rs.29.88 lakh seized.

Police are now attempting to identify and trace the alleged suppliers who provided the narcotics to the arrested persons.Further investigation is underway.

All six accused were produced before the court on different dates and were subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
