Strict implementation of the rotation of duties among police personnel emerged as a key issue during the inspection of Amruthahalli Police Station,with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East Division) directing station officers to ensure its effective implementation and regular follow-up.
The issue was raised by police personnel during the inspection,which also reviewed administration, investigations,personnel welfare and public service delivery.
The comprehensive inspection of the Amruthahalli Police Station was conducted under the directions of the Commissioner of Police,Bengaluru City.
An outdoor briefing was also held for personnel from Amruthahalli,Bagalur,Chikkajala,Yelahanka New Town and Kothanur police stations.
During the inspection,the DCP reviewed administrative and investigation records,heard the grievances of police personnel and directed that pending issues be addressed promptly.
Besides stressing the implementation of duty rotation, personnel also raised issues relating to the pending Dearness Allowance (DA) settlement of ex-servicemen serving in the police department.
The DCP accepted their representation and assured them that the matter would be addressed.
The inspection also focused on expediting the disposal of vehicles seized in criminal cases and unclaimed vehicles in accordance with legal procedures.
The management of case properties (Muddemal), maintenance of records and safety measures at the police station were reviewed.
The DCP assessed the progress of investigations and court-pending cases, directing investigating officers to conduct quality investigations,file charge sheets within the stipulated time and closely monitor court proceedings.
The station was also instructed to organise Victims’ Day every month to hear the grievances of victims and facilitate legal assistance and support.
Special emphasis was laid on strengthening beat enforcement and beat policing.Personnel were directed to conduct regular Sub-Beat meetings to create awareness on cybercrime,drug abuse,the safety of women and children,road safety and other crime prevention measures.
They were also instructed to maintain station cleanliness,ensure proper record management,enforce staff discipline,execute pending warrants,closely monitor rowdy sheeters and habitual offenders,effectively utilise CCTV surveillance systems and provide prompt, citizen-friendly policing services.
Following the inspection,an outdoor briefing was conducted for officers and personnel of Amruthahalli, Bagalur,Chikkajala,Yelahanka New Town and Kothanur police stations.
They were instructed to intensify Cheetah and Hoysala patrols in markets,bus stands,temples and other crowded places,maintain constant vigil over suspicious persons,vehicles and activities,and take preventive measures to avert untoward incidents.
The personnel were further directed to respond promptly to emergency calls,maintain law and order, strengthen beat patrols,interact courteously with the public and discharge their duties responsibly to enhance public confidence and ensure a safe and peaceful environment across the North East Division.
