JDS Activist Hurls Slipper At Pradeep Eshwar In Chikkaballapur

Chikkaballapur town witnessed heightened political tension following the incident in which a slipper was allegedly thrown at Congress MLA Pradeep Eshwar during the Kempegowda Jayanti celebrations.

The controversy erupted after Pradeep Eshwar,while participating in the event,was opposed by a section of attendees over his recent remarks against Union Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy.The protesters disrupted the programme, forcing the MLA to leave the venue.

As he was leaving in an open vehicle,Pradeep Eshwar criticised Kumaraswamy and his supporters, accusing them of targeting him.

He also challenged his political opponents by patting his arm, signalling that he was ready for a political fight.The gesture further agitated some protesters,following which a slipper was thrown at his vehicle.

Police personnel deployed at the venue immediately detained the person who allegedly threw the slipper, along with another individual accompanying him,and took them to the police station for questioning.The police are investigating their motive and whether others were involved in the incident.

Superintendent of Police,Kushal Chouksey,who was personally supervising the security arrangements at the event,reviewed the security situation after the incident. Police are also reassessing the security cover provided to Pradeep Eshwar.

Meanwhile,Congress leaders and supporters of Pradeep Eshwar staged a protest in front of the Chikkaballapur Deputy Commissioner’s residence,condemning the incident.

They demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for insulting the MLA and throwing the slipper,insisting that strict legal action be taken against the accused.

The protesters also submitted a memorandum to Chikkaballapur SP Kushal Chouksey,urging the police to ensure swift action and adequate security for the MLA.

Police said the investigation is underway and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
