A Lamborghini allegedly belonging to Ricky Rai,son of late underworld figure Muthappa Rai,has once again landed in controversy after a video showing the luxury sports car being driven at high speed on the road leading to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA)went viral on social media.
The vehicle,bearing registration number KA 05 NR 0009, was reportedly seen being driven recklessly, creating loud exhaust noises and causing public nuisance.
The viral video also appears to show flames emerging from the modified exhaust system while the car was speeding,triggering widespread criticism online.
Based on the video footage,Bengaluru Traffic Police and Law and Order Police have launched a joint inquiry into the incident.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage to determine when the incident occurred,who was inside the vehicle at the time, and whether Ricky Rai himself was behind the wheel or if it was being driven by another person.
Police officials said action may be initiated for overspeeding, dangerous driving,and unauthorized modifications to the vehicle’s exhaust system,subject to the findings of the investigation.
The same Lamborghini had earlier been involved in a drifting case on March 21 near Kumara Krupa Road and Cubbon Park in Bengaluru.At the time,Ricky Rai had initially denied driving the vehicle.
However,CCTV footage later reportedly confirmed his presence behind the wheel, following which a case was registered and a penalty was imposed.
With the latest video attracting public attention, authorities are expected to take a closer look at the alleged traffic violations and proceed with appropriate legal action if offences are established.
