A Zepto delivery executive was safely rescued after he became trapped inside a malfunctioning lift at an apartment building in Siddapura,Varthur,on Wednesday morning,thanks to the swift response of the Bengaluru City Police’s Namma 112 Emergency Response System.
Senior officer told reporters that,a staff member of the apartment alerted the Namma 112 Emergency Helpline after the delivery executive got stuck inside the lift on 2nd Main Road in Siddapura.
On receiving the alert,Hoysala-225 from Varthur Police Station was immediately dispatched.ASI-Nanjudeshwar S,and Head Constable Ravi Kumar N,reached the location within three minutes.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the delivery executive had gone to the seventh floor to deliver a parcel.While returning,the lift suffered a technical malfunction and came to a halt, trapping him inside.
The Hoysala personnel quickly coordinated with the apartment’s maintenance staff,opened the lift safely,and rescued the delivery executive without any injuries or other untoward incident.
The Bengaluru City Police said the incident highlights the prompt response,effective coordination,and citizen-centric approach of the Namma 112 Emergency Response System,whose timely intervention ensured the safe rescue of people.
