Woman arrested for threatening to Leak Friend’s Private Photos in Bengaluru

A woman was arrested by the Chamarajpet police for allegedly stealing and misusing her friend’s private photographs and threatening to make them public following a personal dispute.

The accused, identified as Shwetha,reportedly developed animosity towards her friend after discovering that the latter was on friendly terms with her boyfriend.

Senior officer told reporters that the issue escalated into a personal feud between the two women.

Investigators said Shwetha allegedly accessed her boyfriend’s mobile phone and obtained private photographs of her friend without permission.

She is accused of sending some of the photographs to the woman’s husband,triggering serious discord within the family.

He further alleged that Shwetha continued to threaten the victim by claiming she possessed more private photographs and would circulate them on social media.

Following a complaint filed by the victim’s husband, the Chamarajpet police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act and arrested the accused.

During the investigation,police reportedly recovered several obscene and private photographs from Shwetha’s mobile phone.

Sources said that images of certain political figures were also found on the device.

Police are now probing the origin of the photographs and examining the accused’s background as part of the ongoing investigation.Further investigation is underway.
