Four-Year-Old Girl Injured in Stray Dog Attack in Bengaluru

A four-year-old girl sustained injuries after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Sahakarnagar on Sunday evening,triggering renewed concerns over the growing stray dog menace in the city.

The victim,identified as Sangeetha(4),was attacked by a group of stray dogs while walking near the CQL Layout area of Sahakaranagar.

Hearing the child’s screams, local residents rushed to the spot,chased away the dogs and rescued her.

According to residents,the girl’s parents,natives of Yadgir district,are employed as construction workers in the area. The child was reportedly walking near a building under construction when four to five stray dogs suddenly chased and attacked her.

The girl suffered injuries to her hands,legs and face.She was provided medical attention and is said to be out of danger.

The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the locality.The footage has once again sparked debate over the increasing number of stray dog attacks in Bengaluru.

Officials from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) visited the spot and conducted an inspection after learning about the incident.

Residents said civic authorities have assured them that necessary measures will be taken to address the stray dog problem in the area.
