The Bidadi Police have registered a case against KRS party leader Ravikrishna Reddy for allegedly making defamatory and abusive remarks against famers during a public meeting held in Ramanagara district.
According to the complaint filed by Rajanna H.C,a farmer from Bidadi had consented to the acquisition of his land for a government township project in Bidadi.
The dispute arose during a protest meeting organised against the land acquisition at Bhramaramangala village on June 6.
In his complaint,Rajanna alleged that Ravikrishna Reddy, while addressing the gathering,publicly abused and insulted him using derogatory language.
He further claimed that the KRS leader referred to him as a “real estate agent”,“cheat”and used other offensive expressions in front of the public,causing damage to his reputation.
Based on the complaint,Bidadi Police initially registered an NCR and subsequently obtained permission from the court to initiate criminal proceedings.
A case has now been registered under Section 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023,for further investigation.
