A daring daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in T.Begur village of Nelamangala taluk has sparked concern among local residents and traders.
According to police,three unidentified men wearing helmets arrived on a motorcycle and barged into Mahalakshmi Jewellers and Bankers,owned by Tej Pal.
The accused allegedly threatened the staff with a knife and looted around 30 grams of gold ornaments worth approximately Rs.5 lakh before fleeing the scene.
During the robbery,an assistant identified as Sunil at the shop attempted to resist the attackers.The accused allegedly assaulted him with a knife, causing injuries.The victim was later provided medical treatment.
Following the incident,personnel from the Nelamangala Rural Police Station visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
A case has been registered,and police have launched a manhunt to trace and apprehend the accused.CCTV footage from the area is also being examined as part of the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns over the safety of commercial establishments in the region,particularly as the robbery occurred in broad daylight.
