A 22-year-old engineer student and 24-year-old techie from a reputed IT firm working in Manyata tech park,filed a complaint with the Cyber crime police that they have been cheated by escort service in separate incidents .
Based on the complaints, the south division cyber crime police and north division cyber crime police on Monday and Thursday.
The student pursuing his computer science in a private college (BMS) searched for the escort service details on social media and contacted the number.
The accused after formal chat and agreeing to the terms and condition asked him to book a room in hotel and also pay Rs.42,000.
The victim paid the money online and waited for the services but it in vain.after futile attempt to call back,the victim realized he has been cheated and approached the police .
The police are now trying to track down the accused who is sitting in the other state through the transaction route.
Similarly,a 24-year-old techie had downloaded call girl app from google play store and paid Rs.33,300 to avail the escort service and cheated .
The victim assured that someone will get in touch with him as soon as he paid and went incommunicado since then.The app later turned out to be fake and being used to cheat people.
