The Halasurgate Traffic Police have registered an FIR against a BMTC electric bus driver following a collision between two BMTC buses at the KR Circle signal that left several passengers and another bus driver injured.
The accused driver,identified as Abhishek,attached to BMTC’s Shantinagar Depot-3,was driving bus KA-51-AF-6163 when the accident occurred.
According to the FIR,the bus allegedly jumped the red signal at KR Circle and rammed into another BMTC bus that was stationary at the traffic signal along with other vehicles.
The impact caused injuries to several passengers.One passenger sustained a fracture to the left leg,while another passenger,Sharanamma,suffered dental injuries.
The driver of the stationary BMTC bus,Prakash,also sustained serious injuries.
All the injured were shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
Police have booked the driver for allegedly causing the accident through negligent driving,and further investigation is underway.
