Man held for Impersonation In Police Recruitment Physical Fitness Test :

Selection committee of Civil Police Constables Posts caught a 24 year old youth from Dharward who had cleared the physical round held in Thanisandra parade ground in November last year through impersonation.

The accused Ishwar K Ganiger,has sent his friend identified as Murugendra Patil,24,from Belagavi who cleared the physical round for him successfully.

However Ganiger was caught while the selection committee scrutinised the video of the physical round and checked Ganiger’s physical appearance.

When The officials confronted Ganiger and questioned,he admitted the crime .

Senior officer said,based on the complaint filed by Ningareddy,ACP,CAR central and a member of the selection committee the Kothanur police have taken up a cheating impersonation and forgery case against Ganiger and his friend Murugendra Patil on Tuesday.

Mr.Ningareddy in his complaint,said that around 76 candidates cleared the physical round held in November in Thanisandra parade ground last year.

The committee informed the selected candidates to appear for the next rounds along with the original documents required for the selection.

However four out of 76 candidates did not appeared following which the committee issued notice to the four candidates including Ganiger on April 23,Ganiger appeared with the documents for the next round which includes scrutiny of the documents.

The committee viewed the video recordings of the physical round to find that instead of Ganiger someone has appeared.

Ganiger told the officials that he was not physically fit and anticipated that he would not succeed and asked him for help.

The Kothanur police have remanded Ganiger to judicial custody while efforts are on to track down Murugendra Patil.
