Two Notorious Chain Snatchers arrested by brave cops of Vijayanagar police station in filmy style and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth Rs.23.60 Lakhs

The Vijayanagar Police have arrested two notorious chain snatchers involved in targeting women during their morning and evening walks and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth Rs.23.60 lakh from their possession.

The arrested accused have been identified as Naheem Pasha alias Pintu (A-1)and Mudasir alias Imran alias Koli (A-2).

The duo was apprehended during a joint police operation following an investigation into a recent chain-snatching case reported in Remco Layout, Vijayanagar.

Senior officer told reporters that the accused used to stalk women walking alone before snatching their gold chains and fleeing the scene.

In the latest incident, they allegedly followed a woman and snatched her 25-gram gold mangalsutra from her neck before escaping.

During the investigation,police traced and arrested both accused and recovered gold ornaments worth Rs.23.60 lakh,believed to be linked to multiple offences.

Police said Naheem Pasha,a rowdy-sheeter of Byatarayanapura Police Station,has more than nine criminal cases registered against him across Bengaluru.

His associate,Mudasir alias Imran alias Koli,is a habitual offender with over 38 cases of chain-snatching, robbery and extortion registered at various police stations in the city.

He had also been evading arrest, with more than 15 non-bailable warrants (NBWs) pending against him.

The Vijayanagar Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the duo’s involvement in other unsolved chain-snatching cases across Bengaluru.

Seemant Kumar Singh appreciating the team and said that the operation was carried out under the guidance of Yatheesh.N,DCP,West Division,under the leadership of Bhoothegowda,ACP,Vijayanagar Sub-Division,Police Inspector,Suresh.N and the officers and staff of Vijayanagar Police Station,who successfully
detected the case.
