The North Division Police of Bengaluru City on Monday registered three cases against wine shops,bars and restaurants for allegedly violating provisions of the Excise Act during a special enforcement drive conducted across the division.
The operation,carried out from the early hours of the morning till 10 am, covered the limits of 13 police stations.

Police teams conducted surprise inspections at 69 wine shops and 64 bars and restaurants,inspecting a total of 133 establishments.
During the inspections,three establishments were found violating Excise Act provisions,following which three cases were registered against them, police said.
The special drive was conducted under the supervision of senior police officers and was carried out under the guidance of the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner and the leadership of the Joint Commissioner of Police (West).
The operation involved three Assistant Commissioners of Police,police inspectors from 13 police stations,and other officers and staff.
Police said such enforcement drives will continue to ensure compliance with excise regulations and prevent illegal activities in licensed establishments.
