President Droupadi Murmu Inspires Tribal Youth, Calls Education and Technology the Key to Building a Self-Reliant India

President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu today interacted with a group of beneficiaries of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs’ flagship scholarship schemes at Rashtrapati Bhavan, highlighting the transformative power of education and urging young people from tribal communities to become catalysts for national development.

Addressing the scholarship recipients, President Murmu emphasized that India is rich in talent and potential. She said that with proper guidance, support, and opportunities, young people from villages, remote areas, and tribal regions can achieve remarkable success and bring pride to the nation.

“The presence of these young achievers is proof that talent exists in every corner of the country. When given the right platform, our youth can excel and contribute significantly to India’s progress,” the President said.

Highlighting the Government of India’s commitment to empowering tribal communities, President Murmu noted that various welfare initiatives and scholarship programs are helping bridge educational and economic gaps. She described scholarships as much more than financial assistance, calling them instruments that give wings to the dreams and aspirations of talented students who often face resource constraints.

“Scholarship schemes are opening doors to new opportunities and enabling deserving students to pursue higher education and professional careers. They are helping create a new generation of confident and capable young leaders,” she said.

The President stressed that education remains one of the most powerful tools of empowerment, capable of making individuals self-reliant, informed, and socially responsible. Reflecting on her own journey, she shared how education played a crucial role in shaping her life and career.

She encouraged the beneficiaries to serve as role models for other children from underprivileged backgrounds, inspiring them to dream big and pursue their goals despite challenges. According to the President, true national progress can only be achieved when development reaches every section of society and when successful individuals help uplift others along the way.

Calling the youth the “strength, hope, and future of India,” President Murmu urged tribal students to remain connected to their roots and cultural heritage while embracing modern education and technology. She emphasized that preserving traditional values alongside acquiring new skills would be essential in building a stronger nation.

“When our youth advance with the power of education and technology while taking pride in their heritage and identity, they will help build a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant India,” she said.

The President also linked the aspirations of tribal youth to the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, the government’s roadmap for transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary of Independence. She expressed confidence that young people would play a pivotal role in achieving this ambitious goal.

Concluding her address, President Murmu encouraged the scholarship beneficiaries to excel in their chosen fields and actively contribute to society and nation-building. She said that every educated and empowered young citizen has the potential to become an agent of positive change, helping create a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous India.

The interaction at Rashtrapati Bhavan served as a powerful reminder of the critical role education plays in unlocking opportunities and empowering tribal youth to participate fully in India’s growth story.
