A woman allegedly assaulted a civic worker by pelting a stone at him after he asked her not to throw a used tea cup on the roadside at Pattandur Agrahara Main Road in Whitefield.
The incident occurred on Friday morning on Kuvempu Road,where the woman, identified as Vaidehi,a private firm employee,was sitting with her male friend after having tea.
The duo allegedly threw the used tea cup on the roadside.
When a civic worker asked them to put the cup in a dustbin instead of littering the road,Vaidehi allegedly lost her temper,abused him and hurled a stone at him.She also allegedly made obscene hand gestures and misbehaved with people in the vicinity.
Witnesses claimed that the woman appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
A Hoysala patrol team that reached the spot detained Vaidehi and her male friend. Based on the civic worker’s complaint,the Whitefield police have registered a case and are conducting further investigation.
