*Enters Vidhana Soudha after bowing to the steps of the northern gate.
Chief Minister D K Shivakumar paid his respects to the people of the state for reposing faith in him by prostrating on the stage before taking oath.
Just when the Governor was getting ready to administer the oath,the CM prostrated to pay respects to the people of the state who have bestowed the opportunity to serve them. He then proceeded to take oath.
*Kannada fragrance on the stage of Lok Bhavan:
Against the backdrop of this swearing-in, Lokabhavana today was completely soaked in the fragrance of Kannada.
The stage for the swearing-in ceremony was decked up in red and yellow- the two colours of the Karnataka flag.
The Kannada pride also shone through at the ceremony with the singing of the state anthem alongside the national anthem.
The CM wore a silk panche (dhoti) and shirt to reflect the culture of the land. With the Congress tricolour flag on the shawl (shalya) he wore,and by holding a copy of the Constitution of India in his hand, he proclaimed that he is an Indian—and moreover,a staunch Congressman.
*Tribute to the statues of eminent personalities:
After the swearing-in ceremony,Shivakumar visited the Vidhana Soudha.Before entering the Vidhana Soudha,he removed his footwear and offered a floral tribute to the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar,the architect of the Constitution.
He then also offered floral tributes to the statues of Jagajyoti Basavanna,Nadaprabhu Kempegowda,the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
*Enters Vidhana Soudha after bowing to the steps of the northern gate:
He then bowed to the steps of the northern gate of the Vidhana Soudha and entered the building.Entering the Chief Minister’s office on the third floor of the Vidhana Soudha,he bowed to the Chief Minister’s chair amid the Vedic chants of priests, and assumed office.
He then signed the file assuming charge and later participated in his government’s first Cabinet meeting.
