Kidnapping Bid Foiled in Bengaluru:Bagaluru Police Rescue Victim,One Accused Arrested

In a swift early morning operation,the Bagaluru Police and Namma 112 emergency response team rescued a man from an attempted kidnapping and apprehended one accused near Srinivasa Nagar under the limits of Bagaluru Police Station on Friday.

According to police,the incident took place around 5 am on May 22 when four individuals who had arrived from the airport booked an Uber cab.

After reaching Srinivasa Nagar near Reva College,the accused allegedly threatened the cab driver with a knife and demanded money.

When the driver informed them that he did not have cash and that his friend possessed the money,the accused allegedly forced him to call the friend to the spot.

After the friend arrived,the four men allegedly attempted to abduct him forcibly.

However, the victim managed to escape and immediately alerted the Namma 112 Emergency Helpline.

Acting promptly on the distress call,the Namma 112 control room relayed the information to ASI Ramamurthy and Police Constable Raju,who were on patrol duty in Hoysala-164 attached to Yelahanka Police Station.

Police said the Hoysala team reached the spot within 16 minutes.On noticing the police, the accused allegedly tried to flee from the scene.

The officers managed to apprehend one of the suspects and safely rescued the abducted person.

Police stated that the quick response and coordinated action by the emergency response team helped prevent a serious crime and reinforced public confidence in Bengaluru City Police emergency services.
