BAMUL President and former MP DK Suresh today accused the Prime Minister of ruining the country’s economy and urged him to apologize to the people of the country.

Addressing a press conference at his residence in Sadashivanagar,he said,“If the once prosperous and powerful economy has been ruined, the Prime Minister alone is responsible. He must clarify what he meant by his remarks and apologize to the people of this country.”

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi must clarify his remarks about continuous wars and global instability pushing large populations back into poverty, and in what sense he made those comments about poverty.I urge him to inform the public keeping all these matters in mind,”he said.

“It has been twelve years since PM Modi took the reins of the country.

Compared to the previous government,he has collected approximately Rs.45 lakh crore extra from the people through hikes in petrol, diesel, and gas prices,”he noted.

“Prices were hiked to protect two or three companies. People have not woken up to this. The message that ‘you will fall into the jaws of poverty’ is something that should make all of us hang our heads in shame,”he said.

When asked about the PM speaking on foreign soil about the country’s poverty while Rahul Gandhi is called a traitor for similar statements,he shot back,”He must clarify in what context he said it.

Was he addressing the Netherlands? Or was he sending a message to Indians from there? That too must be explained.”

“Whatever Rahul Gandhi says, they level accusations against him.We must also think about whether Indians have truly reached such a deplorable state. In my opinion, none of us have reached a deplorable state.

The people of this nation stood behind the PM during the COVID period when he made his appeals,”he said.

“Now, all of a sudden,he is appealing for strict measures and discipline. He should have been cautious from the very day the war began.

Not having taken precautions then, and speaking now, has raised suspicions. He is burdening the Indian people in order to shield his friends and favored companies from losses,”he said pointedly.

BJP can spin anything:

When asked about the BJP’s silence on the country’s economy falling to sixth place, he said: “That’s how BJP is.They can spin anything any which way they want.

Whatever BJP does is never wrong or improper. But if Congress does something, it becomes improper. They themselves accused Suvendu Adhikari, then put him through the ‘washing machine’ and cleaned him up, and now they’ve given him power. People understand all of this.”

On Congress opposing the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, he said:”The Congress party’s position must be made clear to the public. Elections are being held at different times in different states.

‘One Nation,One Election’ is easier said than done.If they clarify what democratically elected governments are supposed to do,this matter can be brought to some resolution.”

*PM should have also spoken about NEET:

When asked about the NEET examination question paper leak,he said:”We had opposed NEET when it was introduced.

I had also spoken about the injustice it causes to Kannadigas.I had pointed out how Kannada students face problems in getting seats.

NEET is a massive scam.Investigations must be conducted into all the exams held over these years.

Seeing the deaths and suffering of so many talented students, the Prime Minister must answer for this.He comes and gives speeches on all sorts of things — he should have come and spoken about this too.”

*The Chief Minister is capable:

When asked about the state government completing three years, with several promises still unfulfilled,he said:

“The Chief Minister is capable,he will fulfill them.He has the strength and vast experience to deliver on all the guarantees and promises made.As Finance Minister,he has presented around eighteen budgets.”

When asked about the SIR (Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls), he said,”The Congress party must do the work of creating awareness to retain its voters.”

When asked whether the situation that arose in West Bengal due to the SIR could happen in Karnataka too, he said: “We are reaching out to our spokespersons and party workers. We are holding meetings everywhere.

We are informing them about what precautions to take. We will try to ensure that such a situation does not arise here.”
