NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea (Minister Choi Hwi-young) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (President Kim Yoon-ji;“KOCCA”) held the 2026 Korea–India K-Content BizWeek from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at Hyatt Regency Delhi in New Delhi.
The event was inaugurated by Minister Oh Jin-hee (Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India) and Shri Prabhat – Additional Secretary – Ministry of Information and Broadcasting along with many other high dignitaries present.
As part of KOCCA’s specialized marketplace initiative, following India’s selection as a target market for 2026, 20 Korean content companies and 73 Indian content companies took part at the Biz week.
The event provided a platform for direct exchange between Korean and Indian content companies, creating practical opportunities for business collaboration.
It also helped translate KOCCA India’s business networks into tangible commercial outcomes for Korean content,particularly by strengthening connections with local companies identified during the 2026 Korea–India K-Content BizCon in Mumbai in May, leading to follow-up discussions and contract negotiations.
In her congratulatory remarks,Minister Oh Jin-Hee of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India highlighted the creative strengths of both Korea and India and welcomed the opportunity that the event provided for cultural and content exchange.
She also celebrated the occasion as a meaningful first step toward greater friendship and harmony between the two countries.
Prabhat, Additional Secretary at India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said that while the Korea–India summit in April had created momentum for bilateral cooperation,K-Content BizWeek marked a symbolic step toward bringing exchanges between the two countries’content industries into a more substantive phase.
He added that the Ministry would maintain close communication with the Korean government and continue to support further cooperation.
Kim Yoon-Ji, President of KOCCA, said, “The 2026 Korea–India K-Content BizWeek provided a platform to advance potential partnerships between Korean content companies and local companies identified through our ongoing efforts into concrete business discussions and commercial agreements.
Going forward, we will further strengthen our phased support through the KOCCA India Business Center—from identifying local partners and facilitating business discussions to contract negotiations and follow-up cooperation—to help accelerate Korean content companies’ expansion into the Indian market.”
On opening day, KOCCA hosted an India Market Entry Strategy Forum to help Korean content companies better understand the Indian market.
Lee Min-woo, Head of Department at KRAFTON India, shared insights on global game localisation and market-entry strategies, followed by Kim Gyu-jin, Executive Director at Samil PwC, who outlined India’s tax policies and business environment.
Kim Young-soo, Director of the KOCCA India Business Center, provided an overview of the Indian content market and key market-entry considerations for Korean companies.
The forum also featured Spotlight on K-IP, an IP pitching session with 10 Korean companies from Animation, Character IP, Broadcasting and Gaming.
The companies presented their key IPs and partnership opportunities, generating strong interest among Indian buyers and leading to one-on-one export consultations.
AI-driven content production was another highlight, with Content Saero, New Universe and Sharebox presenting innovative applications of AI across short-form content, animation,drama and immersive experiences, opening avenues for potential collaboration with Indian companies.
KOCCA also conducted sector-specific advisory sessions for all 20 participating Korean companies, covering legal and taxation matters,company incorporation,intellectual property and trademarks,trade and commerce, publishing and distribution, and gaming.
The consultations provided practical guidance to support their entry into the Indian market.
