Continuing investigations into the explosive substances recovery case, the Kalasipalya police arrested two more accused who are part of the racket to supply gelatine sticks and detonators illegally.
The duo identified as Shiva Kumar,31,and Naveen,33, from Kolar used to procure the explosives from their source and sell it to the people involved in illegal stone quarrying and digging wells and confessed to have sold it to many people earlier .
With their arrest the number of accused involved in the case has reached five and the police are investigating to ascertain their source of explosives which is suspected to be from the neighbouring state .
The police had earlier arrested three people who are labourers and carried six gelatine tubes and 12 detonators which they attempted to carry from Kolar to Kollegal through by bus.
The accused carried the bag and wanted to use the washroom at the Kalasipalya bus stand on July 23 .
However they saw security personnel and bus drivers and conductors in Khaki uniform,mistaken them as police and escaped after abandoning the plastic bag containing the explosives.
The police rushed to the spot secured the area for a through search and later registered a case under Explosive substances Act .
Based on the CCTV footage and technical details the police arrested Ganesh,Muniraju and Shivakumar,a daily wage labourers from Kolar,who were given the task to carry the explosives and hand it over to their contacts in Kollegal .
