Eenadu Digital, Visakhapatnam: Chairman of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) Hospital, Dr. K. Nageswara Reddy suggested that everyone should focus on gut health. Attended the annual conference of South Zone and South Mid Zonal Association of Physicians of India in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Dr. I. Jogarao gave a memorial speech. Dr. Nageswara Reddy said that in future generations, there will be a situation where synbiotics will be used to improve the health of the digestive system. In this approach, along with food, a rationally designed microbiome is given in the form of medicine. ‘The gut microbiome is driving key changes in medicine. Modern lifestyles have changed the microbiome. As a result new types of diseases are coming. Research shows that bad bacteria in the gut can cause obesity, stress, and other diseases. Babies born by normal delivery and breastfed for up to 6 months have good bacteria. Even if there is no need for cesarean sections, no breastfeeding, even if the baby is given antibiotics before 3 months old, bad bacteria can grow from childhood. Instead of going to waste, fresh food prepared at home can promote good bacteria. He was later felicitated by conference chairman, WIMS director Dr. K. Rambabu, former vice-chancellor of NTR Health University, Dr. Ivy Rao and others.
