CCB’S Cyber Crime Police busted illegal telephone exchange in Bengaluru

The Cyber Crime Division of the Central Crime Branch on Wednesday launched a probe against illegal telephone exchange which is being operated by a group of people in white field for the last few days.

The racket came to light when the staff of nodal officer of a major private mobile service provider,based on the information from the telecom department,verified and found that a 42 SIM cards availed from the company has been used for illegal purpose.

The accused have used SIM box to transfer international calls into domestic calls to run illegal telephone exchange and make money.

This according to the complaint is not only threat to the national security but also causing huge financial losses to both the private company in violations of telegraph act.

Based on the complaint,the CCB have registered a case against the unknown accused charging them under various sections of IT act and also under Telegraph Act for further investigations.
