“We are considering the formulation of a new scheme to safeguard the gold and ornaments held in the state’s temples, ensure proper accounting, and enable their effective utilization for adorning the deities and conducting religious rituals,”stated CM D.K.Shivakumar.
He was speaking on Monday after laying the foundation stones for various development works within the premises of the Renuka Yellamma Temple in Savadatti.
“I have instructed the Minister for Muzrai to utilize the approximately 42 kg of gold at the Savadatti Yellamma Temple to adorn the Goddess, making the darshan of the deity even more captivating for devotees,”he said.
“Temple Gold Should Serve as Ornaments for the Deity. An accurate account of the gold held in all temples across the state must be maintained.
It should not simply be kept in boxes, creating concerns about the possibility of theft or misappropriation. The gold should be effectively utilized to create ornaments for adorning the deities.
Our government has taken steps to formulate a special scheme in this regard.A project worth ₹215 crore has been undertaken for the comprehensive development of the sacred site of Yellammana Gudda,”he stated.
It Is My Good Fortune to Set Foot in this abode of Savadatti Yellamma:
“With deep devotion, chanting ‘Udo Udo Yellamma, Udo Thayi Yellamma,’I offer my sashtanga namaskara to Savadatti Yellamma, the presiding Goddess of this sacred abode.
It brings me great joy to have lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of the Mother and participated in this holy event,”he said.
“We have all gathered here in the presence of Mother Yellamma, who nurtures, cares for,and protects everyone.
It is my good fortune to have had the opportunity to participate in this sacred endeavour,”he added.
Yellamma:A Source of the Power of Faith:
“Yellamma is the Mother who dispels hardships and alleviates sorrow.Devotees believe that Yellamma, an embodiment of Goddess Durga, protects people from all walks of life.
I,too, have visited this temple during difficult times to offer prayers to the Mother.Members of my own family have also visited this temple, sometimes without my knowledge.
“The fact that devotees travel from distant places to reach this temple demonstrates how deeply Goddess Yellamma is rooted in the hearts of the people,”he remarked.
“Religion and faith are deeply personal matters for every individual.Faith is essential to human life.In our culture, we revere the Earth as a Mother.
Even when visiting villages, one of the first things we ask about is the Gramadevata.Women hold a place of special honour in our culture. For instance, it is our tradition to write ‘Srimati’ before ‘Sri’ when addressing someone on an invitation card.
“We must respect all religions and live together in mutual harmony,”he said.
Serving the People Is Like Serving God :
“The government is akin to the abode of the Divine.Just as people visit temples to share their hardships and seek relief, they also approach government offices with their problems.
It is the government’s duty to address people’s grievances and provide solutions. That is why Kengal Hanumanthaiah had the inscription ‘Government Work Is God’s Work’ placed atop Vidhana Soudha.
Our government has established the Praja Seva department to bring the administrative machinery to the people’s doorsteps,”he stated.
He commended senior party leader and former minister H.K.Patil,noting that he had etched his name in history by establishing a special authority for the development of the Yellamma Temple, thereby laying a strong foundation for its future progress.
“There are plans to develop essential facilities at the temple, including das oha (community dining and food service) and accommodation,”he said.
Government Responds to MLA’s Demands :
“The local MLA has put forward several demands for the development of the Savadatti constituency. To improve farmers’livelihoods and ensure water availability for agriculture, greater emphasis must be placed on lake-filling projects and lift irrigation schemes.
MLA Vishwas Vasant Vaidya has worked hard for the constituency’s development by securing grants worth thousands of crores of rupees,”he remarked, appreciating the MLA’s efforts.
“A grant of approximately ₹43 crore has been allocated for upgrading the Savadatti Town Municipal Council.
Various development initiatives, including those relating to hospitals, have also been undertaken. The government is committed to the comprehensive development of the constituency.
We will work in coordination with all elected representatives to address the needs of the people,”he assured.
‘Bhu Guarantee’ (Land Guarantee) to Resolve Land Record Issues :
“The Praja Seva programme has been formulated to spare people the trouble of running from pillar to post in government offices to get their work done.
We have introduced the ‘Bhu Guarantee’ initiative to resolve issues relating to land and property records maintained by the Revenue Department,City Municipal Councils,Town Municipal Councils, and Panchayats, and to provide citizens with appropriate and valid documentation,”he explained.
Negilayogi’ Scheme to Assist Poor Farmers with Land Tilling :
“The government’s primary objective is to improve the lives of farmers.Farmers have no fixed salary, promotions, pension,or retirement benefits.
The government must stand in support of them.Filling lakes and providing irrigation facilities are of utmost importance,”he stated.
“To ease the difficulties faced by poor farmers in carrying out agricultural activities, we plan to implement the ‘Negilayogi’ programme from next year.
“Under the proposed scheme, the government will arrange for the tilling of land belonging to poor farmers who own three acres or less, using tractors.
This initiative will provide relief to farmers who are struggling due to a lack of essential agricultural facilities,”he explained.
Lift Irrigation Projects Worth Over ₹500 Crore are Underway :
“Lift irrigation projects worth over ₹500 crore are currently underway in the Savadatti constituency.Further demands aimed at improving irrigation facilities for farmers will also be examined,”he said.
Encouragement for Young Talent :
“To provide a suitable platform for the talents of the state’s youth and foster leadership qualities,’Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas are being formed at the Gram Panchayat level.A plan has been devised to establish 10,000 such youth associations across the state,”he stated.
Fulfilling the Promise of Five Guarantees :
“Immediately after assuming power, we fulfilled the five guarantees promised to the people. We have kept our word by implementing initiatives such as free electricity, financial assistance for women under the ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ scheme, and free bus travel for women under the ‘Shakti’ scheme. Our government is committed to improving people’s lives and providing solutions to their problems,”he said.
“The MLA has submitted a request for a project to fill another lake in the Saundatti constituency. We will discuss the proposal with officials, assess its feasibility, and take a decision accordingly,”he added.
