Ambulance driver arrested after crashing into two cars, two-wheeler in Guddadahalli

hree people including a four month old pregnant woman sustained injuries and several vehicles including three cars and two bikes damaged in a serial accident due to rash and negligent driving of ambulance driver on the busy Guddadahalli traffic junction on Friday night.

The ambulance driver was heading to pick up a patient and crashed into the parked cab waiting for the signal at the Guddadahalli junction from behind.

As a result a pregnant woman travelling sustained minor injuries .

Panicked ambulance driver tried to escape and knocked down a two wheeler before heading towards timber yard and crashed into two more cars and a biker .

Passers-by chased the ambulance and intercepted the vehicle before alerting the police.The Byatarayanapura traffic police rushed to the spot shifted the injured to the hospital before arresting the driver .

The injured were subjected to medical examination where doctor confirmed that the pregnant woman sustained minor injuries while the biker had fractured his led.

The accused driver identified as Suman,23, told the police that he was hurrying to pick up the patient and while nearing the traffic signal he hit the accelerator peddle instead of brake.

The driver was subjected to alcometer and confirmed he was not drunk, a senior officer, said .

The Bytarayanapura Traffic police have seized his vehicle for further investigations .
