First year B-Tech student ended life by hanging in her college hostel room probe on

A 21-year-old first year B-Tech student ended life by hanging in her hostel room situated in the college campus at Chandapura on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Harshitha,A, native of Arasikere in Hassan district student of Bangalore College of Engineering and Technology .

The incident came to light when here roommate tried to open the door but there was no response.

They forced open the door to find her hanging to the ceiling .

The Suryanagar police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post mortem .

Preliminary probe revealed that Harshitha had an argument with her friend over the phone before taking the extreme step .

Meanwhile students on Friday staged a protest demanding detailed probe and lack of facility at the college.The body has been handed over to the parents after post-mortem.

A Case of un natural death has been registered and police are awaiting PM report to ascertain the exact cause of death.The police are verifying Harshitha’s call record details to ascertain the reason behind her extreme step .
