Agri Innovation Centre
•Innovation should be encouraged to bring in new technology to increase the production of farmers in the agricultural sector.
The Cabinet meeting has approved the establishment of ‘Agri Innovation Centre by the Department of Biotechnology at a cost of Rs.67.50 crore to reach Agri Biotech institutions to farmers,increase productivity and encourage new innovations for crop protection.
*Police Recruitment scam:SIT to be formed for further investigation:
•The committee headed by retired Justice B.Veerappa has submitted a report on the police recruitment scam. According to the report,113 people including government employees,private individuals and middlemen are involved in this.
CID is investigating 17 cases.Some of them have not provided information before the commission.
The cabinet has also agreed to the formation of the SIT in the light of the recommendation of the Commission that the information should be obtained from such persons through other investigations and the SIT should be formed to carry out further investigations into the wrongdoings.
*BDA site allottees given 3 months time to pay the installment:
•Plots have been allotted in Kempegowda layout in Bangalore and other such layouts during 2016-2018.
They are allocated on lease cum sale basis.Some people have paid in installments and have lease cum sale deed.
Some are unable to pay the installment on time and have requested to give another chance.The cabinet has decided to give them three months time to pay the outstanding amount with 12% interest and avail the lease cum sale deed .
*Road widening:Decision to issue TDR:
•There is a contempt of court case going on in the Supreme Court regarding the acquisition of the land outside the palace for road widening,and the chief secretary of the state,the Additional chief secretary of the urban development department and the BBMP commissioner have been instructed to appear in person.
The case is due for hearing in next week and the Supreme Court has suggested that if the road is to be widened, then TDR should be given and the acquisition has to be made.
The previous government had decided that there was no need to widen the road.Then the opposite party went to the court again saying they have decided not to widen the road only now. But in 2016 they built a compound inside the palace.So it’s out of our hands.
In this matter,the Supreme Court has converted the case into a contempt of court case and has instructed to come to the conclusion that since it is land acquisition,compensation should be given,otherwise decide that there is no need for land.
After a detailed discussion the Cabinet came to the conclusion that the land is needed for road widening and TDR will also be paid.
*Decision to install Bhubaneswari statue in Vidhana Soudha premises:
The statue of Mother Bhuvaneswari,a symbol of Kannada land and language culture,will be erected in the premises of Vidhana Soudha at a cost of Rs.23 crore.
The cabinet has expressed its desire to start this work as soon as possible.This decision has been taken with the intention to mark the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the renaming of the State.
*Administrative approval for Metro 3rd phase project for Bangalore:
Metro is the best way to reduce traffic congestion in Bangalore.Metro Phase 2A and 2B work will be completed in next two years.
Keeping in view the future requirement,the Cabinet has given its approval for the construction of Metro Rail Phase-3,with two corridors of 44.65 km length (Corridor-1 from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapur along Western Outer Ring Road for 32.15 km and Corridor-2 for 12.50 km from Hosahalli along Magadi Road to Kadbagere).
Administrative approval has been given for implementation at a total estimated cost of Rs.15,611 crores. BMRCL has said that the target of launching the Metro 3 phase in 2028.
The state government will bear 85% of the cost of this project and the rest will be provided by the central government.
The cabinet has taken this decision in the direction of providing better connectivity for the movement of people in the city.
*Establishment of Tea Park in eastern part of Bangalore:
A ‘Tree Park’will be developed in 65 acres of land owned by NGEF, Bangalore in KR Pura taluk,eastern part of Bengaluru,and many amenities including walking and cycling track, play ground will be provided in the park.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has decided to develop Lal Bagh,Cubbon Park so that members of all age groups of the family can spend healthy time in this good environment.
It has been decided to build a tea park for public use at an estimated cost of Rs.11 crore without giving the land worth crores of rupees to any industries.
The Cabinet has decided to give approval for the Construction of 33 new primary health centre buildings in 7 districts under Kalyan Karnataka at a cost of Rs. 132 crore.
