he State government is committed to develop University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) University on the lines of IIT level within three years, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking after inaugurating the UVCE University at KR Circle Campus here on Thursday,he said the government is ready to provide all assistance and a total freedom and autonomy will be given to the varsity without any intervention.
Through this,this institute will be developed on an international level.We will give finance, best teaching faculty and infrastructure to the new varsity.
The students need not go in search of IIT like institutions for quality education.It has been decided to develop six engineering colleges including UVCE on the IIT model.
We have upgraded UVCE as a varsity as it is required for research and future development. This institute has completed 105 years,and it was in the hands of students to make this the world’s best technical varsity”.
Bommai said UVCE has been a standard institute among other institutions but there should be any politics in education.
Efforts must be made to develop this institute with the amalgamation of all thinking.The students must feel proud that they are the students of this institute.
A new dimension will be created in the field of Technical education by making UVCE as an IIT.
The future of students is in their hands and they must be the part of change.
A change in thinking will lead to positive changes in development.Engineers must have logical and analytical thinking.
Once a student is always a student throughout life. In education it is first learning and then examination but in real life it is examination first and then learning.
The 21st century is the century of knowledge and it is possible to win the world through knowledge. To achieve this,they need to develop a positive attitude.
He said Bengaluru has 400 international level R& D centres and out of 500 fortune companies,400 companies are in Bengaluru.
This will hold the mirror of the existing system here.The students of UVCE must shine at an international level.

It was a matter of pride that a person like Sadagopan has been a part of this institute. These persons are pioneers of three IT companies and the UVCE must grow to greater heights.
