A shocking case of deception, blackmail, and a dramatic suicide attempt unfolded within the limits of the Electronic City Police Station in Bengaluru.

Senior officer told reporters that the accused, identified as Arshad from Puttaparthi, allegedly posed as a former classmate of a school teacher and contacted her via WhatsApp nearly a year ago.

Gaining her trust,he continued conversations and later claimed he was suffering from cancer, seeking sympathy and financial help from the victim.

Investigators said the accused then manipulated the teacher emotionally, claiming it was his“last wish”to be physically intimate with her. When she refused,he allegedly coerced her into sending a nude video.

After obtaining the video,Arshad reportedly began blackmailing the teacher, threatening to make the video public unless she paid money and agreed to his further demands.

Distressed by the situation, the teacher confided in her friends, who helped her devise a plan to trap him.

The victim lured the accused to Bengaluru by pretending to comply with his demands. Upon his arrival, she and her friends apprehended him and brought him to the Electronic City Police Station.

However, in a dramatic turn of events,as police began the complaint process, the accused allegedly took out a razor blade from his bag and attempted suicide by injuring himself, including his private parts,in front of officers.

Police immediately intervened and rushed him to a hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

After his recovery,a case will be formally registered and further investigation carried out.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that the accused had separated from his wife and had purchased a second-hand mobile phone.

He reportedly obtained the victim’s contact through a Telegram link and targeted her, exploiting the fact that she was originally from Andhra Pradesh.
