Cyber crook creates Fake Instagram account claiming IAS officer to seek Financial help from his contacts

The West Division cyber crime police are o the lookout for cyber frauds for creating fake instagram account of an IAS officer to seek financial help from his contact list .

Based on the complaint filed by,Naveen Bhat Y,State Mission Director,National Health Mission (NHM), the police on Friday registered a case under IT act on Friday.

Mr.Bhat said that the fake account was opened misusing his credentials and sent request to all his contact seeking emergency financial help on January 15 .

The accused also mentioned a mobile number where the money could be sent,he said sharing the mobile number of the accused.

The incident came to light when some of his friends in the list brought this to his notice .

This is the most common form of cyber frauds to misuse the social media account of noted personalities he added.
