Construction material at the storage area at the under construction metro site in cantonment was gutted due to accidental fire broke out at around 4 pm.
Rajesh a passers-by noticed the fire and alerted the fire control room,Three fire tenders rushed to the spot and put out the fire .
The storage area contained construction material and plywood,plastic material used for partition and glue containers led to the fire .
Thick smoke engulfed the area and residents adjacent to the metro site panicked and rushed out of the house .
Three tenders along with five teams of fire and emergency service personnel pressed into service and managed to douse the fire.No one injured in the mishap.
Though overheat of inflammable material suspected to the be reason behind the mishap , a team of technical experts and police visited the area to probe the cause of fire, a senior officer said.
Meanwhile a garbage heap outside a factory in Jigani industrial area was on fire created panic among the residents on Saturday afternoon.
Residents adjacent to the factory,without confirmation,alerted the fire control room and informed that the fire broke out in the factory . Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and put out the fire.
The garbage heap has dump of waste material and discarded items from the factories spread the fire fast and led to smoke covering the area .
Residents were panicked due to heavy smoke and heat waves.Since it was a garbage dump no complaint has been registered,a fire officer,said .
