A 26-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh was found burnt to death alongside his motorcycle in a deserted area on Bikkanahalli Road near Sarjapur in Anekal taluk, with police suspecting murder.
The deceased has been identified as Vamsi Krishna,a native of Guntur,Andhra Pradesh.
His charred body and the burnt motorcycle were discovered on Thursday evening after local residents noticed flames in the area and alerted the police.
Senior police officers,including Bengaluru Rural Additional SP Venkatesh Prasanna,visited the spot.A Scene of Crime (SOCO) team and a dog squad examined the area and collected evidence.
According to the investigation,Vamsi Krishna was staying at a paying guest accommodation in Electronic City.
He had completed a diploma in engineering from NTTF College and had worked for a private company for about a year before remaining unemployed for the past four to five years.
Police said Vamsi Krishna left his PG on his motorcycle at around 3.40 pm on the day of the incident to pick up his friend,Bhanu Prakash,who was arriving from Andhra Pradesh.On the way,he called another friend, Praveen, inviting him for dinner later that night.
However,when Bhanu Prakash tried to contact him around 4.40 pm,Vamsi Krishna’s phone was switched off.Soon afterwards,his burnt body and motorcycle were found on Bikkanahalli Road.
Using the motorcycle’s registration details, police contacted the victim’s brother, Shiva Krishna.Family members and friends later identified the body.
A murder case has been registered at Sarjapur Police Station, and the investigation is being led by Inspector Mahendra Kumar.
Police are examining the victim’s call records,CCTV footage, and other technical evidence to determine the sequence of events.
The victim’s family has ruled out suicide, alleging that Vamsi Krishna was murdered before his body and motorcycle were set on fire.
They said he had no known enemies or romantic relationship and insisted that he was not the kind of person who would take his own life.The family has urged police to conduct a fair and thorough investigation.
Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances leading to Vamsi Krishna’s death,and the motive behind the suspected murder remains under investigation.
