The Karnataka Police Headquarters has directed all police unit heads across the state to furnish details of bank accounts maintained by their respective units, police stations,and divisions functioning under their jurisdiction.
In a fax and email communication issued from the Office of the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP),Bengaluru,all unit officers—including those from the Railway Police,KGF Police,and Special Units—have been instructed to collect and consolidate information regarding bank accounts operated by their offices.
The circular,dated June 12, 2026,requires officers to submit details such as the name of the bank account number,branch name,the name under which the account is maintained,the purpose for which the account was opened,the closing balance as on May 31,2026,and whether the account is still active or required.
The information must be compiled in the prescribed format and submitted to the Police Headquarters in both soft and hard copy formats by 12 noon on June 15, 2026.
Officials have been instructed to send the soft copy to the official email address ssactco@ksp.gov.in.
The directive was issued by the IGP (Central Establishment-I)on behalf of the Director General and Inspector General of Police,Karnataka State,and has also been forwarded to the Police Inspector of the Control Room at Police Headquarters for urgent communication to all concerned units.
The move is understood to be part of an exercise to verify and update records relating to bank accounts maintained by various police establishments across Karnataka.
