The Lokayukta officials on Monday trapped Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology,red-handed while accepting a bribe from a businessman for clearing a pending licence application.
The complainant,Kiran R.M,son of R.Muniraju and a consultant residing in R.S.Palya,Bengaluru, alleged that the accused Vanishree M.S.,Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology,4th Circle,Mapana Bhavan,demanded a bribe to approve a packaging licence related to mobile
accessories.
The official had allegedly demanded Rs.10,000 to process the application.
Following the complaint,Lokayukta Police laid a trap and reportedly caught the officer while accepting Rs.5,000 as part of the bribe amount.
The accused officer,Vanishree M.S,has been taken into custody under PC act further investigation is underway.
