• RPF seized narcotics valued at Rs. 63.80 lakh during May 2026.

• Under Operation “Uplabdh” RPF seized tickets valued Rs. 6.19 lakh.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is unwavering in its commitment to safeguarding railway property, passenger areas, and the well-being of travelers.
The force has been working round the clock for providing safe,secure and comfortable travel experience to the passengers.
In May 2026,RPF continued to ensure the safety,security, and comfort of passengers,while also assisting Indian Railways in delivering reliable freight transport services to its customers.
RPF, during the month of May 2026,made certain commendable achievements under several operations run by it: –
*Operation “Nanhe Faristheh”-Rescuing Lost Children:-
Under the mission “Nanhe Faristheh,”RPF played a pivotal role in reuniting 49 children (37 boys,12 girls) in need of care and protection with their families.
These children were separated from their families for various reasons,and RPF worked tirelessly to rescue and handed over to NGO/Police.
*Operation Dignity:-Under this operation four elderly persons (03 male,1 female) in need of care and protection were rescued and handed over to their families or NGOs after due verification.
*Empowering Women Passengers -“Meri Saheli” Initiative:-
Under this women-centric initiative,RPF personnel ensured safe travel for single and unaccompanied female passengers.
Their seat and berth details were shared with station RPF teams for real-time monitoring and assistance.
Feedback was collected at destination stations. Presently,32 Spl/Mail/Exp trains are covered under this initiative.
*Cracking Down on Touts (Operation”Uplabdh”):-To ensure fair availability of train tickets to genuine passengers and to curb black marketing,intensive checks were conducted at various Travel Agencies and locations across Karnataka and Goa.
During these drives,37 touts were arrested in 36 cases under Section 143 of the Railways Act.A total of 49 live tickets valued at Rs.1,53,,620 and 263 used tickets worth Rs.4,65,968 were seized.
*Detection of Contraband Items (Satark & Narco Operations):
a) Under Operation Satark,RPF detected 07 liquor cases, recovering 1,458 bottles (1309 litres) worth Rs.83,31,457 which were handed over to the Excise Department.
b)Under Operation Narco,08 cases were detected, resulting in the seizure of 37 kg of ganja valued at ₹33.80 lakh,and 20 carton boxes containing 1,99,600 cigarette sticks of korean brand valued Rs.30 lakh.
*Swift Response to Passengers’ Concerns:-On 63 occasions,RPF personnel recovered passengers misplaced or left-behind items such as laptops,mobile phones, ornaments,and other personal belongings valued at Rs.50.34 lakh, and returned them to rightful owners.
*Train Escorting and Mobile Patrolling:
An average of 36–40 Express and Special trains were escorted daily by 125–130 RPF personnel across the zone, ensuring continuous vigilance and passenger safety.
*Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act 1966:- RPF registered 07 cases and arrested 13 offenders, recovering stolen railway property worth Rs.86,160 out of a total stolen property valued at Rs.1,04,160.
