The Karnataka government has declared an afternoon holiday on June 3 for officers and staff working at Vidhana Soudha,Vikasa Soudha and the Multi-Storeyed Building in view of the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister-designate.
According to an official notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR),the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at Karnataka Lok Bhavan at 4.05 pm on June 3.
A large gathering of people and heavy vehicular traffic is expected in and around the venue.
The government said the decision was taken considering security and safety requirements arising from the presence of dignitaries and the anticipated crowd.
As a result,all officials and employees working in the three government office complexes have been granted an afternoon holiday on the day of the event.
The order was issued by Under Secretary to the Government R.Yadukumar on behalf of the Governor of Karnataka.
The notification has been circulated to all Additional Chief Secretaries,Principal Secretaries,Secretaries,and other concerned departments for necessary action.
Traffic restrictions and enhanced security arrangements are also expected around the Lok Bhavan area during the swearing-in ceremony.
