A 25-year-old resident from Somasundarapalya has lodged a complaint alleging a suspicious fire incident on Tuesday and illegal activities in a cluster of makeshift sheds in the area.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday around 3:00 am,when residents were alerted by loud noises coming from shed structures located at property number 32/13.

Upon stepping out, locals found a massive fire engulfing the sheds, with flames rapidly spreading.

The complainant stated that a relative who rushed to the scene noticed around four to five unidentified individuals allegedly setting fire to the sheds before fleeing the spot.

Fire and police personnel later arrived at the location and managed to bring the blaze under control preventing further damage .

However, residents in the surrounding area were reportedly gripped with fear due to the intensity of the fire.

The complaint further alleges that nearly eight sheds had been illegally constructed on the property without obtaining necessary approvals from civic authorities.

These sheds were reportedly rented out for profit without providing basic amenities or safety measures.

A person identified as Rafeeq is accused of renting out the sheds to workers, mostly from northern states.

Locals have alleged that unknown individuals frequently gathered in the area, engaging in suspicious activities, including substance abuse and late-night disturbances, creating an atmosphere of fear.

Residents have expressed concern for their safety, stating that they are afraid to step out or even leave their children alone at home due to the prevailing situation.

The complainant has urged authorities to identify and take strict legal action against the unidentified individuals responsible for the fire,as well as against the property owner and the person managing the sheds for alleged illegal construction and negligence.

Based on the complaint, the Bandepalya police have issued notice to Praskash Babu, owner of the land seeking details of the land and no objection certificates he had obtained from different department.

Meanwhile a group of illegal immigrants who were tenants in the land working at the garbage segregation unit complained to the state human commissioner accusing police brutality .
