Hassan:A 23-year-old social media influencer was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the bathroom of a lodge in Valalhalli-Kudige in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan district,while the two young men who had reportedly accompanied her to the lodge are missing.
The deceased has been identified as Varsha (23),a resident of Chikkabanavara in Bengaluru.
According to preliminary information,Varsha had travelled to Sakleshpur with the two men and the trio checked into a room at Sri Devu Lodge in Valalhalli-Kudige on Friday.
The following morning,Varsha was found dead inside the bathroom,while the two men were reportedly no longer at the lodge.
Police rushed to the spot after being alerted and inspected the scene.Deputy Superintendent of Police Malatesh also visited the lodge and gathered details about the incident.
Police are tracing the whereabouts of the two men and investigating the circumstances surrounding Varsha’s death.
Hassan SP,Shubhanwita said police suspect that Varsha may have died of asphyxiation caused by gas from a geyser.
However,she said the exact cause of death would be established only after the post-mortem examination.
“There were no external injuries or marks indicating resistance or a struggle.
However,we are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death,”the SP told reporters.
A case has been registered at Sakleshpur Rural Police Station,and further investigation is underway.
