A 70-year-old seer of Ananda Mutta situated at Santhehalli village is located in Malur taluka of Kolar district was bludgeoned to death by rival group of ashrama over property row in the early hours of Saturday.
In a swift action,the Malur police led by Superintendent of Police,M.Narayana track down the accused who are fleeing to Kolkata within hours.
The deceased Acharya Chinmayananda Swamiji was at the rest room when the accused identified as Arun kumar,55,Dharma Pranavananda swamy,45,and Praneshwarananda swamyji,48,armed with lathis barged into the washroom,broke open the door and assaulted the victim before fleeing the spot .
The profusely bleeding Acharya Chinmayananda Swamiji was rushed to RL Jalappa hospital where he succumbed before recording his statement .
Preliminary inquiry revealed that there was a civil dispute over mutt property and administration of polytechnic college is reason for murder.The case is pending before the court for many years.
The victim was under attack many times before as the accused wanted to take over the mutt administration , the police, said .
The police have made elaborate security arrangement to ensure law and order as tense situation prevailed for sometime as the death of Acharya Chinmayananda Swamiji spread in the village .
The situation is peaceful and the accused have been taken into custody and all digital evidence and sticks are seized for further investigation.
