Award Ceremony by Smt Gangamma S.Bommai Trust on August 14: MP Basavaraj Bommai

Haveri:An award distribution ceremony and cultural program will be organized in Haveri on August 14 by the Smt Gangamma S.Bommai Trust,said former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai.

He was speaking during a preparatory meeting with party leaders and workers at the BJP district office on Kaginele Road in Haveri,ahead of the event scheduled for Thursday,August 14, here on Saturday.

Bommai said for the past 22 years,he have been organizing programs under the Shrimati Gangamma S. Bommai Trust.In her name,he has provided educational and healthcare services, and presenting annual awards,” he said.

The awards include:

1.Akkha Award for mothers who have authored exceptional literary works during the year.

2.Srushti Award for children under 14 years who have written literature.

3.Janapada Shri Award for individuals who have made contributions in the field of folklore.

A state-level selection committee has chosen the award recipients.The program will be held on August 14,and the event will be graced by the divine presence of the Swamiji of Hukkeri Math.

Chairman of the State Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti will inaugurate the event, and Dr.Vijayalakshmi Balekundri will be the chief guest.

As part of the program, cash prizes will be given to: Five women self-help groups (Stree Shakti Sanghas) for their excellent work,Five farmers for their outstanding agricultural contributions, and Five girl students who scored high marks in the SSLC exams.

“We aim to make Haveri a hub of culture and literature.If we wish to make the city we live in a better place,then engaging in cultural and literary activities is essential. That will bring recognition to Haveri at the state and national levels,”Bommai added.

The MP said in connection with the birth centenary of his father,he has planned to provide scholarships to 1,000 students across the district—at least 200 students from each taluk.

In addition,he has decided to organize a health camp with everyone’s cooperation.This will include screenings for orthopedic,neurological,and cancer-related conditions.

“It’s not just about politics;we are committed to organizing constructive cultural and literary programs. Your support is very important for this,and I believe we have that support”,the MP said.
