Bengaluru:The City Market Police have registered a case against 10 unidentified persons for allegedly abusing and assaulting Shahid Khan,19,with their hands and mobile phones following a minor altercation on October 19.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred around 7 pm on October 19,2026,near the R.T. Street area, when Shahid was travelling on his two-wheeler (KA07EF4196) with his friend Fardeen Pasha.
An unidentified person allegedly obstructed their vehicle, following which an argument broke out.
When Shahid and his friend questioned him,a group of people allegedly gathered at the spot, accused them of being thieves and hurled abuses at them.
The group allegedly assaulted Shahid, with some punching him while others attacked him with mobile phones, causing bleeding injuries to his head and other parts of his body.
Meanwhile in an alleged disturbing allegation against the police response system, personnel who attended the complaint Hoysala patrol team allegedly assaulted an already injured man instead of immediately providing him assistance, even as blood was reportedly oozing from his eyes.
According to the allegations, public from the spot called the jurisdictional police inspector concerned but the inspector did not respond to the situation, while the Hoysala and Cheetah police team arrived late.
Shockingly, the personnel allegedly joined others in assaulting the victim without first assessing his condition. They reportedly continued slapping him despite his visible injuries.
Although Bengaluru’s Namma 112 emergency response system has been credited with numerous instances of rescuing people and assisting those in distress, the victim in this case allegedly had a different experience.
The delayed response and the alleged conduct of the Hoysala personnel have raised questions about the handling of a person who was visibly in need of medical attention.
The Hoysala team subsequently took the victim to a hospital.
However, the personnel allegedly requested him not to file a complaint against them after realising the gravity of their actions.
The allegations,if established, raise serious concerns about police conduct, accountability and the duty of personnel responding to emergency calls.
The incident requires a thorough inquiry, including verification of the emergency call records, the Hoysala vehicle’s response time,CCTV footage and the victim’s medical records and further investigation is underway.
