Fruit vendor Arrested in record time by Ramamurthynagar police for Sexually Harassing Woman Waiting for Cab in Bengaluru

The Ramamurthynagar police have arrested a 42-year-old fruit vendor in record time for allegedly sexually harassing a woman who was waiting by the roadside for a cab in Bengaluru.

The accused has been identified as Vijay Raghav(42),a resident of NRI Layout.

Senior officer told reporters that he approached the woman on a scooter and allegedly made obscene remarks,sexually harassing her in a public place.

The woman remained composed and immediately recorded the incident on her mobile phone.

Realising that both his face and vehicle registration number had been captured on video,the accused fled the scene.

The victim later shared the video on Instagram,raising serious concerns over women’s safety in the city.

She questioned whether women could safely stand alone in public and tagged the Bengaluru City Police, urging them to take strict legal action against the offender.

Based on her complaint, the Ramamurthynagar police registered an FIR, launched an investigation, and traced the accused.He has now been arrested and is being questioned.Police said further investigation is underway.

Finally Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,Seemant Kumar Singh,Joint CP East,Ramesh Banoth,has appreciated DCP East,Dr.Vikram Amathe,and his whole team of Ramamurthynagar police station who acted swiftly after receiving information on Instagram they immediately in record time identified the creep as accused and arrested him and for their timely action the netizens and the complainant appreciated the whole team for the commendable job done by them he added.
