Magadi Road Police have registered a case against 17 miscreants for allegedly engaging in a violent public brawl that disrupted traffic and created panic among the public on Dr.Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar.
According to the FIR,the incident occurred between 9.40 pm and 10.30 pm on July 23 in front of Colors Mobile shop on Rajkumar Road.
While on night patrol,police personnel noticed around 18 to 20 persons divided into two groups shouting,abusing and attempting to assault each other on the public road.
The police stated that the altercation obstructed vehicular movement and pedestrian traffic,creating fear among members of the public.
Officers immediately intervened,dispersed the crowd and brought the situation under control.
During the inquiry,police found that the clash had erupted over a trivial dispute between Siddaraju,owner of Colors Mobile,and Deepak,owner of Star Mobile,with their associates joining the confrontation.
Based on a complaint filed by Assistant Sub-Inspector Kumar K.R,the Magadi Road Police registered a case under Section 194(2)of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023,relating to acts disturbing public peace.
The FIR names 17 accused,including Deepak, Chandrashekhar,Abhi Darshan,Guru,Harsha,Tanneer Pasha,Ravikumar C,Siddaraju R, Ilyas Mubarak Qureshi, Madhukar,Vinay Kumar,Vishnu,Anantaraj,Irfan,Girish, Rangaswamy and Naveen Kumar H.M,along with others.
Police have taken up further investigation into the case.
